You're invited! The 2009 HumanLight party will be Wednesday, December 23rd. HumanLight is the celebration of humanism and the light of reason. Reception begins at 5:30 pm at the Prairie UU Meeting House located at 2010 Whenona Drive, Madison WI. Bring your favorite appetizer or dessert for sharing along with your beverage of choice. (Coffee, tea, and hot cocoa will be provided.)

Our program includes:

Jane Esbensen — Jane is a Humanist UU Minister and will be our MC for the evening. You can hear Jane's delightful talk about reverence and humanism by clicking here (28 min.).

Ken Lonnquist — Ken has been described as "a cross between Dylan, Cheech & Chong and Elmo" (Isthmus, 8/21/09). He's a prolific & award-winning songwriter who's been entertaining audiences of all ages with his original songs. (www.kenland.com)

Star-gazing with John Rummel — John is an amateur astronomer and photographer. Unless the sky suddenly clears, John will have an indoor presentation for star gazers.

Storytelling with Rose Smith - Rose is a retired librarian and will share some of her favorite stories.

Arts & Crafts — An arts & crafts area will be available for coloring, beading, origami, and more. Feel free to bring your extra craft supplies to share.

Folk dancing for all ages led by Doleta Chapru.

Donations Requested — Bring your new or gently used warm weather socks, hats, gloves, and blankets for distribution to area homeless shelters. Information about other giving opportunities and organizations will be available.
